Spiral Pipe Wrap
Wrapping your exposed ductwork and pipes with Flexfoil can signifIcantly reduce your heating and cooling costs by minimizing radiant energy loss. Condensation problems caused by cold pipes as well as radiant heat loss by hot pipes can also be reduced. Your ducts or pipes can be wraped in one of two ways: Lineal Wrapping or Spiral Wrapping.
Product

In this application the Flexfoil is installed as a radiant barrier. An Rvalue cannot be assigned to the material in this system, as it is not a closed system. However, due to the low emittance of foil surfaces (emittance of 0.03), the Flexfoil does not
absorb and re-emit a large amount of radiant energy. This translates into significantly increased comfort levels and energy savings.
Instructions
  1. Wrap the pipe using Flexfoil.
  2. The foil side should be pointing outwards.
  3. Ensure that a 1" overlap is maintained at all times.
  4. Do not leave any open air spaces or exposed pipe.
  5. Fasten the Flexfoil to each end of the pipe using Flexfoil reflective tape.
  6. Tape all exposed adjoining seams using Flexfoil reflective tape if required for perfect airtight applications.
